Groups may book themed tours on request. Particularly popular are tours that focus on the history, development and cultural heritage of Mumbai. Groups may also book interpretive tours of the Museum’s temporary special exhibitions. Our tours can be conducted for audiences of varied age and interests.
Use of masks / face covers is mandatory at all times within the Museum premises and the Museum Plaza.
Senior Citizens, pregnant women and children below age of 5 should avoid visiting the Museum or take extra precautions.
To avoid the spread of Covid-19, please wait in a queue for tickets within the marked circles to ensure adequate distance between you and other visitors.

Please clean your hands with the hand sanitizer kept at the entrance before entering the Museum galleries.

The Museum will stay open from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, Thursdays to Tuesdays. The ticket counter will close at 4:30 pm. The Museum will remain shut on Wednesdays.
The Museum Library will remain closed to visitors and researchers till further notice.
The Museum Cafe, and the Education Centre will remain closed to the visitors till further notice.
Visitors are requested to co-operate with Museum staff and security personnel to ensure safety and follow all rules and regulations.

Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the Museum premises.
If you need to attend to a phone call, please step out of the Museum galleries so as to not disturb other visitors.
No outside food or beverages are allowed inside the Museum premises.
No weapons or flammable items are allowed inside the Museum premises.
Chewing gum, gutka or paan is not allowed inside the Museum premises.
Museum visitors are permitted to take photographs only for personal and non-commercial use.
Photographs taken on the premises cannot be published, sold, reproduced, transferred, distributed, or otherwise commercially exploited in any manner whatsoever.
Visitors may take photographs in the Museum’s permanent display galleries and the Plaza without the use or aid of a flash, tripod or monopod.
Video and the use of movie or film cameras is strictly prohibited.
Please show consideration for the experience and privacy of other visitors when taking photographs.
Do not take photographs of other visitors, staff, administrative offices, INTACH Conservation Lab, INTACH Documentation Centre, Special Exhibitions Gallery, Special Project Space and Education Centre without prior permission.
Photography is not permitted in the Museum Shop for commercial reasons.
